Sandy beach

On this beach the waves are crazy! It was so hard just to stand in the water. Every wave that hit you could just knock you off your feet. But anyways, it was so much fun. Afterwards I knew why this beach is called Sandy: You have sand stuck on you on every possible part of your body after being in the ocean.

Look at the guy in the back. He was knocked off his bord by the wave and is now flying:

The Shins

Wow, what an amazing concert. The Shins were incredible. Live they sound even better.

The Beach Boys

Honestly, what would I be without my concerts? The first one I saw was way too typical for Hawaii (besides Jack Johnson): seeing the Beach Boys on the beach, for free. Surfing USA, woohooo! They were accompanied by John Stamos, the actor some of you might know as uncle Jessy from "Full House" from the 80's. And we rocked the Beach Boys (although we probably were the absolutely youngest
visitors there)

Willy Wonka and too colorful cereals

To all Tim Burton fans:
*sing* Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka, the amazing chocolatier - Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka, everybody give a cheer! *sing*
unfortunately I had no golden ticket in my Wonka bar :-(

How can cereals actually be that colorful???
Fortunately they don't taste the way they look....

Hike to the Manoa falls

Waterfalls are all over the place on the Hawaiian islands. One weekend we went to the Manoa falls, close to the University of Hawaii.

University of Hawaii campus

I visited Eva on her campus. I was really amazed by these trees:

HPU trip to Kailua beach

Every now and then the Hpu offers trips. This time it was to Kailua beach. We drove there in this schoolbus. In the whole bus I was the only non-asian person ;-)

The HPU has two campuses, one in Honolulu downtown, the other one in the mountains of Oahu. This gives you an idea how it looks like there:

Although there were sharks and man-of-war warnings we went swimming. We are true daredevils *evil-laugh*

Kaneohe Bay, Independence day, Diamond Head, Shark´s Cove, Sunset Beach and Wine testing

Boat-trip in Kaneohe Bay with Paola and Scott:

Scott after an unfortunate meeting with a man-o-war. Even after 2 weeks the line is still visible. A very painful experience!

Independence day in Ala Moana Beach Park. It was like a big festival and so much fun!

Watching the fireworks:

From the Diamond Head you have an amzing view over Honolulu:

Snorkeling in the Shark´s Cove. One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had:

After the Shark´s Cove we went to Sunset Beach. Kyle, who was with us, was driving an 1941 Plymouth, he got from his grandfather. Of course we had to take pictures of this beautiful oldtimer.

Scott´s car. Very big and veeeery strong (around 350 PS):
